Been really busy

Hello everyone. Just an update on how things are going. Well it's been 21 days tomorrow since I've smoked my last cigarette and it gets easier everyday. No patches. No lozenges. Just support. Work is going very well. I've been keeing up with American Idol. Vote Sanjaya.

Spending time with family

Today I decided to write about the most important thing in my life and that would be my family. Being a truck driver, I am very fortunate to be on a dedicated route and be home as often as I am. I'm home on Tuesday, Thursday, and on weekends and have only been driving a truck for 9 months. I lucked out that I live near numerous Interstates allowing me to take a dedicated route and be home with my family. I have a beautiful family. Today I took our three year old daughter and nine year old stepson outside to the park at our apartment complex while my wife took our 20 month old grocery and shoe shopping. I love watching them play and could spend all my time at home with them if given the chance. Spend as much time with your children as possible. The time you spend with them now will mold them into the leaders of tomorrow. Until next time.

I quit smoking recently

I've smoked since I was the age of 15. That's 13 years for those who are well with math. Why have I decided to quit smoking? My father passed away in October 2005 of a heart attack at the age of 64. No he wasn't young, but we were not ready to lose him. It states on his death certificate that a factor of his heart problems was the fact that he smoked. When I think of that, I look at my children and tell myself that I want the ability to live a long life with my children. I want to have enough time to eventually retire and enjoy my children's children. How did I quit? Two weeks ago today I purchased Step 1 of one of those patch systems. Those things cost more than cigarettes. I used half of them and now I'm not using anything. I think the main thing in quitting is willpower. When I have the urge to smoke a cigarette, I tell myself my reasons for quitting and the urge goes away. Until next time.
